Memorial Services

GTMC staff are available to assist you in planning a memorial service that honors your loved one. You may choose a traditional Zen memorial service or a ceremony with a Buddhist tone that you and your family help create. These services can be held at the Zen Center or at another location of your choosing. We offer a variety of options to accommodate different needs and preferences. All ceremonies are offered on a freewill donation basis.

Memorial Services During Sunday Morning Community Practice

A brief memorial service, which includes offerings, chanting, and a dedication to the deceased, can be conducted either at GTMC or in a setting such as your home. These ceremonies are often integrated into the Sunday morning community practice at the Zen Center. Each ceremony is personalized to reflect your specific circumstances and needs.

Other Ceremonies

In addition to memorial services, GTMC offers ceremonies for various occasions. These include services for those who are ill, baby welcoming ceremonies, vow ceremonies, and custom ceremonies designed to fit your situation. If you have a unique need, please reach out to us—our staff is creative and open to working with you to design a meaningful ceremony.
